The short version

Lightmorphic Flat works on your own computer. The apps, settings and backups it handles never pass through us, and we never see them. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Who we are

Lightmorphic Ltd is the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17423646, at 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE.

The application

Everything Flat reads or writes stays on machines you control:

• Your app list — the apps you want, and which of them keep their settings — is a file in your own settings folder, and a copy wherever you choose to save one.
• A backup holds the full contents of each chosen app's own folder, which for a browser includes bookmarks, history, cookies and saved passwords. It is written only where you choose, it is not encrypted, and it is never sent to us. Keep it somewhere as safe as the machine it came from.
• Nothing is logged or reported about which apps you have or what is in them.

Flat itself makes one kind of network request: it asks GitHub, where Flat's releases are published, whether a newer version of Flat exists, when it starts and every half hour while it runs, and downloads one only when you click to. That request carries nothing about you or your apps. GitHub's handling of it is covered by the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

When you search for an app or press Restore, it is Flatpak on your machine that talks to Flathub, or to whichever remote you have chosen, to fetch the app. That exchange is between you and that remote, under its own terms; it does not pass through us.

This website

The site is a set of static files hosted by GitHub Pages. We set no cookies, run no analytics, and use no tracking pixels. We do not have accounts, and there is no form to fill in.

Like every web host, GitHub receives your IP address and browser user-agent as a technical necessity of serving a page, and may keep short-lived server logs. We do not have access to those logs. GitHub's own privacy practices are described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

One script on this site, the Lightmorphic apps launcher, is loaded from apps.lightmorphic.com, which we operate. It stores nothing on your device and sends nothing about you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to how it is used. Because we hold no personal data about visitors or users, in practice there is nothing for us to return, correct or delete. You can still ask, and we will answer.
